I have a lot of pumpkins. Like, more than any normal person should have. Part of the reason is because I went with a white pumpkin look one year. Another year I was into glam, sparkly pumpkins. And then another year, I was all about traditional orange. And all of those pumpkins were stored in the attic.
When we pulled the pumpkins down so that I could start writing fall blog posts, I really wasn’t sure which direction I wanted to go in. So I pulled every pumpkin out and spread them out on my dining room table to get an idea of what I was working with. I spent an entire afternoon playing around with tablescape ideas and I’m going to share all the different looks to help you decide what color pumpkins you should use this year. So, go ahead, make some of our favorite pumpkin chocolate chip bread, and let’s talk fall decor.
All of these pumpkins are fake. Some are from Hobby Lobby. Some are from the Target dollar section. We have the realistic looking kind from Michaels. And the fancy, pretty ones are from TJMaxx and Home Goods. Some are even from the Dollar Tree. The cheapest one is…you guessed it $1 and the most expensive was probably $24.99 (that’s the huge Cinderella one in the front).
Let’s start off with a simple centerpiece that only takes two components: a really large pumpkin and a very large charcuterie board. This pumpkin was from HomeGoods and was in the $25 range.
Thinking about decorating with white pumpkins? Here’s an idea of what an all-white pumpkin tablescape looks like.
The next idea features my “glam pumpkins”. I have one white one and two very pale blueish-green ones. I love the sparkle accents on them! They are even prettier in person!
And then I added a little metal and white to give them a little different look.
Are you looking for something a little more complex than just pumpkins sprawled out on the table? I had so much fun putting this tablescape together. An IG friend said it reminded her of Harry Potter and I agree! I wanted to do a mix of the orange and blueish pumpkins and this is what happened. I really love how this one turned out.
When I sprawled all of the pumpkins out that day, I really loved the look of the rainbow pumpkins. I decided I wanted to recreate it on a smaller scale as an actual tablescape. I think this is my absolute favorite!
I’m not sure you can go wrong with your pumpkin choice! I hope seeing the different colors put together can help you make a decision on what color pumpkins you should use this year. Which look is your favorite?
