Two Inexpensive Fall Centerpiece Ideas

I’m not the Queen of Tablescapes. I gaze in envy at the beautiful masterpieces that grace the pages of Instagram and Pinterest. I contemplate buying pretty chargers and napkin rings. But that stuff doesn’t happen here. It just isn’t realistic for our family that uses our farmhouse table for pretty much EVERYTHING. We eat at the table. We homeschool at the table. We play with Legos at the table. We color pictures at the table. We play boardgames at the table. There has even been a time or two where people fell ASLEEP at the table.

But I do love a centerpiece for the table. And I like it best when they are inexpensive and use things I may already have on hand. I’m going to share two different ideas for you. One I completely used items I already had on hand. For the other, I bought $23 worth of florals from Michaels. I love both and I hope you get some ideas for your next centerpiece. 🙂

First up, the box of pumpkins. This was the first centerpiece of the fall season. It lasted the month of September. (I have a tendency to change my mind a lot.) I had this long chippy box that I had bought at an antique store a year or so ago. I filled it with books, placed a white runner over it (so that you wouldn’t see the books), and then started throwing some pumpkins in there. These have all just been collected over the last couple of years or so, but you can find them at Michael’s, Hobby Lobby, TJ Maxx, and Target.

So, a little transparency here. Ahem, the box of pumpkins was a wee bit too high and the people at the ends of the table really couldn’t see each other. Hence, idea number two.

Florals! I had spied this one particular strand of florals at Michael’s earlier in the season and it made my heart pitter patter. When I walked in a month later and saw that they were half off and I had a 25% off coupon on your entire order that I could use, the wheels started turning for centerpiece number two.

The Supplies. Total: $23
Hint: You see those three little bouquets? You can pop the bud off and use it as filler in your empty spaces.
Me, having a little too much fun with my supplies. Can you tell I love fall?

So, there is a very specific way to do this project. You lay things on top of each other until you are happy with the way it looks. I added some pumpkins in that I already had.

And there ya have it! Two really simple table centerpiece ideas for the mom who ain’t going to fool with chargers. 😉

Thank you for stopping by! Until next time! From our porch to yours!

XO,

Sharlie
