Stuck at Home, Working on Projects, and Waiting On Baby

Life has been a little crazy over the last month or so. It’s been a busy season and this homebody has found herself having to go somewhere nearly every day of the week. Add to that, I got a nasty sinus infection after my mommy sabbatical and it doesn’t seem to want to go away. Most of my time at home has been spent with me in bed just trying to rest.

As I write this, we are in the midst of the the coronavirus crisis, which I hope will be a distant memory for us all soon. Even if this time of social distancing proves to be a waste, I can say I’ve been thankful for this week of rest. Plus, it’s allowed us to really focus on the stairs project. Which I don’t think I’ve talked about on here yet.

Benjamin pulled up our very nasty carpet up sometime in late January or early February and it’s been a work in progress ever since. But I think we should be able to wrap it up this week and I can’t wait to share all of the details with you! It’s amazing the difference!

The nasty carpet and what’s underneath. I can’t wait to share all the details on this project when it’s finished!

The other “project” we hope to get completed this week (or maybe next) is our kitchen island. I found the most perfect piece at Vintage Pickin in Taylors, SC a couple of weeks ago! It’s from an old barn and has been repurposed to be used as a kitchen island. I’ve been on the hunt for an actual antique for the last year or two to use as our kitchen island that also didn’t break the bank. I’m hoping we can pick it up this week and bring her home!

Lastly, we have hit week 37 in pregnancy! Little guy will be here soon and he is moving all around in my belly while I type that! I’m so thankful we are having a planned homebirth with all of the uncertainty going on with this virus. Many hospitals aren’t allowing spouses to be at the hospital. My heart goes out to the women who are having to deal with these circumstances in what should be such a happy time.
