Our Date Night In Box Review

Have I mentioned how much I love my Date Night In monthly subscription box? We partner with Date Night In and I get the box for free, but I would pay for this service in a heartbeat. My husband and I look forward to our Date Night In and I love the fact that all the planning is done for me. They even provide a menu (which has been delish every time) and a Spotify music playlist that goes along with the theme for that night.

This is our third Date Night In box and we have loved each one, but this one might just be my favorite. The theme was Easy Like Sunday Morning and it was all about relaxing with one another. This 20-week pregnant mama was in need of a bit of intentional relaxing! Each date comes with a guide and this one was fashioned to look like a newspaper. Super fun!!

Our menu was an enhanced breakfast for dinner. Belgium waffles were included in the box. I was a little worried that they wouldn’t be all that great since they were prepackaged. But they were actually really yummy! Especially when you added the included maple syrup and some whipped cream! The menu also included a recipe for candied bacon (bacon cooked in the oven topped with brown sugar and cinnamon) and kale and goat cheese eggs. But we  just scrambled up some eggs with some Asiago cheese. I loved that dinner was fairly easy to throw together…easy like Sunday morning??

Our box this month had a faith component in it. It was a pamphlet with a thought-provoking discussion on the Sabbath. We discussed it as we ate dinner and I really enjoyed having this added to our box. If you are a Christian, I would definitely recommend it.

After dinner, we made some tea using the included Tea Drops. I am so in love with this tea. We had the Ginger Citrus flavor and it was amazing. We then grabbed our “newspaper”, snuggled up on the couch, and did crosswords, mad libs, a dice game. It was really so much fun. Did I mention I needed to prop my feet up and just relax? 🙂

With four kiddos and one on the way, we are lucky to get out of the house once a month for a date. This service has truly been a blessing and has helped us be more intentional in carving out some time for just the two of us. If you’re wondering what the kiddos are up to while we date, we cook them a pizza and some dessert and they head upstairs to watch a movie. Our oldest child is eleven and she does a phenomenal job of watching over them.

I’m already looking forward to next month’s big date! You can grab your own Date Night In box by clicking here. They also have Kid Night In monthly boxes that have activities for your kiddos!

From my porch to yours,

Sharlie
