Energy Balls

I love energy balls. They are such a yummy, healthy treat! All of my kids love these and I feel good that the ingredients are real ingredients! Plus, they are fun to make. They are no-bake so have your kids join you in the kitchen to whip up a batch!

No Bake Energy Bites
This is such a great dump-and-mix kind of treat!

Some of these ingredients may not be your normal pantry items. If you have an Aldi’s near you, that’s the place to stop and get these ingredients at the best price. The bags of chia seeds, flax seed, quinoa (etc) will last a long time. You can make these energy balls over and over again! And, no, this is not a sponsored Aldi’s post (I wish!).

No Bake Energy Balls
These are so easy to make!

As always, make this recipe work for you! Substitute chocolate chips with cranberries, add coconut, omit quinoa. We have used both peanut butter and almond butter and they were both so yummy! The only thing you need to keep in mind is the consistency needs to be able to be shaped into balls. Also, I like to use a reusable non-stick silicone mat, but you can also use parchment paper. 🙂 If you are looking for more sweet treats check out our pumpkin chocolate chip bread!

  1. Maybe a silly question, but do you cook the quinoa first? I
Assuming yes, but I don’t know? And…can you just grind flax seed in blender? Or food processor?
    Thanks! They look yummy!!

    • Actually, I used uncooked quinoa! I got the idea of adding it in because I had some chocolate with quinoa in it. It adds a crunchy texture to it! 🙂 I would definitely think you can grind the flax seed in a food processor. The kind we used is called milled flax seed, which is really finely ground.
