Date Night In Box Review: Minute to Win It

One of my favorite night’s of the month is when my husband and I get to enjoy our Date Night In Box. The boxes are always so thoughtful and creatively prepared. Confession: I’m not a terribly creative person. Daily life sorta zaps any creative thoughts. So this night, this box, is MUCH needed! And here’s the usual disclaimer: I do receive this box for free and in return I share my thoughts. I also say this every time–I would absolutely pay for this box. It’s been a huge blessing to our marriage.

Each month has a different theme and this month’s theme was game night, Minute to Win It style. Before I delve into the activities, I want to add that we make this work with four kiddos (and one on the way!) at home. Our children are ages 11, 7, 5, and 3. We send them upstairs and rent a movie for them. We also make it a point to actually wear real clothes (not pjs) and dress up, just as if we were going out on a date.

Now, back to the box. Everything you need for your date is included in the box. Like, even pencils. See, I told you they are thoughtful and think of everything! They also include a menu that goes along with the night’s theme. We had to skip this month’s menu (which was regrettable because it looked SO yummy!) because my husband is doing Whole 30. But we did enjoy some paleo salmon cakes! lol

You have the option to include a Faith component, which is a discussion guide. We love this addition to our box. We read and discuss it as we eat our dinner. This month’s discussion focused on verses from James and patience. We looked back at how God had worked through various trials and situations in our past. As always, we felt encouraged as we ended our meal and moved on to the night’s activities.

I got excited seeing the jelly beans and cookies! Heehee! Your box comes with a guide that walks you through every bit of your date night. We had six different (but simple) competitions, Minute to Win It style! I’m not going to go through every single one, but I do want to share a couple to give you an idea of what was involved.

Elephant March: First, you spread out some cups on the floor. Next, you put a squishy ball into one of the legs of a pair of panty hose. Put panty hose on your head. Try to knock over the cups on the floor using the ball in your panty hose…sorta like an elephant walking and knocking things over with its trunk.

Really attractive, right? 🙂

And…the Elephant March in action!

We laughed so hard during this one! We let the kids try it the next morning! Another activity was Face the Cookie where you place a cookie on your forehead and then try to inch it towards your mouth without touching it. It’s a lot harder than you’d think!

Each game has us laughing. It was fun to be silly and just relax! In the end, my husband was declared the winner…but that wasn’t too much of a surprise! lol

Thanks for visiting and checking out our Date Night In Box! They have many different subscription options. They make great gifts too! They also have a Kids Night In Box option. You NEED to check them out!

From my front porch to yours!
