Choose This Instead of That

I shared a bit how FASTer Way to Fat Loss has helped me get my sugar addiction under control. A lot of it was finding healthier alternatives to satisfy that craving for something sweet. If you live in an area where some of these products are hard to come by, my suggestion would be grab some raspberries, some decent dark chocolate, and/or some honey. It’s amazing how awesome fruit can taste when you give your taste buds a break from granulated sugar. AND…there are a lot of copycat recipes out there. You can probably make some of these on your own! 🙂 (PS: The formatting on WordPress has been so weird lately. Sorry for the captions looking weird.) 🙁

If you are a client going through one of my FASTer Way to Fat Loss rounds, keep in mind that when you start tracking your macros, you’ll need to make sure that you stay in your macros if you have one of these treats. Obviously, I don’t eat all of these every day. Another tip, portion out your serving. Don’t just eat out of the bag. You will overdo it. Eat slowly and enjoy it!

First, up are Perfect Bars. These bars have a lot of protein, which is really great since I normally have a hard time getting all of my protein in. The peanut butter chocolate chip tastes like a healthy Reese’s cup. These are sweetened with honey. I ate one of these a day when I first began FASTer Way to Fat Loss and it helped me stay on track SO much. It was my 2pm snack and gave me something to look forward to. You will find these in the refrigerated section. Sometimes it’s with the kombucha aisle, some places it’s with cookie dough, yogurt, etc. Every store is different.

Perfect Bars: Found at pretty much any grocery store/Target/Walmart

The next product is a little harder to find. I have found them at a local grocery store called Publix (normally in the produce section) and Walmart. The plain coconut ones have been at Target. The chocolate coconut ones taste like German chocolate cake.

Bear Naked Granola Bites have helped me get through birthday parties where everyone else is enjoying cake and ice cream. I portioned out my 15 bites and savored every single one! The good news is a couple of hours after the party, I was happy I’d stuck with my granola bites. My sweet tooth was satisfied and I had no regrets.

They have lots of yummy flavors. This brand also makes granola, which is easier to find. I’ve only found the bites at Target.

I really love the RX brand stuff. The vanilla almond butter is perfect for my low carb day because it helps me get healthy fats in. The chocolate sea salt bar is my favorite pretty much any day.

You can find these on the peanut butter aisle on most grocery stores, Target, and Walmart.
These are SOOOO good!

Last, I have the Hail Merry brand of goodies. These can be hard to find. The only place I’ve found them lately is in the cooler section of Whole Foods. They cookie dough one is my favorite, but they have other options too.

I’m going to wrap this up with two products that aren’t sweet, but they are must-haves for me. Nutpods is what I use in my coffee nowadays. Before you turn up your nose, you must know that a year ago I drank coffee because of my super awesome creamer that tasted like liquid cookies. Starbucks was my jam. When I started FASTer Way to Fat Loss, I went a week without coffee and then decided that coffee and Nutpods was better than no coffee. Yes, it took getting used to, but now I feel sick when I drink a normal Starbucks drink.

You can buy Nutpods on Amazon, Whole Foods, Publix. Sometimes it’s on the refrigerated section, but it also comes non-refrigerated so it’s another one of those products where you may have to hunt for it.

And let’s talk about salad dressings. Tessamae’s is dairy and gluten-free, made from whole food ingredients. It’s Whole 30 approved, which means it would be FASTer Way to Fat Loss approved too. It’s in the refrigerated section (near produce) at Whole Foods and it’s become hit or miss if I can find it in other grocery stores. Ingles carries it and Walmart used to, but I haven’t found it lately. The ranch flavors are all good and I like the Caesar one too.

This is a great healthy salad dressing. I can really only fit this in on low carb days because it’s so full of healthy fats.
