Aloha, friends! One of my fondest memories was visiting Hawaii with my grandmother. My uncle, aunt, and their newborn son were stationed on the island of Oahu and we stayed for one glorious month when I was in sixth grade. So when I received this month’s Date Night In Box, I was beyond excited to see the theme was Aloha! I receive this box for free to share with you all, but all opinions are my own and I would pay for this subscription box in a heartbeat!
What is Date Night In Box, you may ask. Well, it’s a subscription box that you can receive once or sign up for a subscription and enjoy every month! You receive a well-thought out date plan to enjoy at home and everything you need for the date is included in the box! They even include a sample menu that goes along with the date.
How do we make Date Night In Box work with children at home? We set them up with a movie upstairs and our two oldest children (ages 11 and 7) babysit the two youngest. So far, this system has worked perfectly. Another thought, you could also put the kiddos to bed a bit early.
So, the theme for our Date Night In Box was Aloha and all wonderful things Hawaii.
The optional dinner menu designed by Marina:
Hawaiin Honey-Lime Fruit Salad
Luau Pulled Pork Sandwiches with Pineapple Slaw
Macadamia Nut Oatmeal Cookies Dipped in White Chocolate.
Yummy!!
They also include discussion questions to talk about over dinner. They really think of everything! A playlist is even included that goes along with the night’s itinerary. A candle from Northern Lights Candle was included to set the mood. Scent: Plum Orchid and Dalhia…heavenly.
The events of our date night:
Make your Cocktail (or Mocktail…which is what this pregnant lady did!). Two tropical themed cups were included in the box, along with Minute Mixology drink mix.
Learn the Hawaiian Language: Such a neat feature to include! Did you know that Aloha means: love, affection, greeting, salutation, Hello!, and Goodbye!
Lei it On Me: This was a fun game that included cards with fill in the blank questions on them. Example: I wish we were flying to (fill in the blank) this week. Your partner has to guess what your answer is. If your partner answers incorrectly they have to perform an action like, Give me a five minute back massage. 🙂
Snack Time! Two bags of Hawaiian Kettle Potato Chips Sweet Maui Onion were included to munch on. They were so good!
Game Time: Next, we played a fun game called Konane, which is a variation of checkers. And, yep, the game board and game pieces are included. I tell you, they think of everything!!
Hula Time: A hula lesson is included on their website! So.much.fun!!
Aloha Bingo: The night was ended with a romantic game of Aloha Bingo where you do activities like Snuggle Up on the Couch and Reminisce About Your First Date.
We love this box, as always! And we can’t wait to see what fun next month brings! You can grab your own box here.
From our Porch to Yours!
